What's spelled out here so well is simple for the mechanically inclined. And even for those that purport to have the skills (and charge $$$) to actually work on them.

I don't think the F53 RV Chassis actually has an Air Bag in the wheel . I may be wrong but ya never know.

We still don't know what year Ford started using a keyed steering wheel.

My alignment place removed my steering wheel and then reset it centered. No issues with doing that either time (done twice). 2006.

That doesn't really show or mention of the spline is keyed or not.
A keyed spline will have one spline missing, to match the double wide one on the shaft.

Says to mark wheel and shaft , wouldn't think if was a blind spline they would want to mark?

Not with a generic instruction from Ford. Who knows how old the graphic is.

The Ford part catalog shows the same part number for the steering shaft 2014 and 2017 and the 2014 is keyed.

I think I remember reading you did yours and you have a 2014 ? I've got a 2012 and mine looks just like the pics of the steering wheel when off center. I want to fix mine so I'm thinking my 2012 would be the same as your 2014 ?

I just did a quick parts check and Ford changed the steering column design in 2004 and the shaft shows the some current base part number.

AC Orange,
You should have no issues or problems with doing that at the steering column. If you're read the original thread it has almost all the little nuances which will make the job very easy.
1. Use a screwdriver wedged into the slot to keep the tension off the splines while raising and lowering the split ring/collar.
Here's what I'd add. If your steering wheel is lets say at 10:30 and you want to move it to 12:00 as you are raising the split collar have somebody hold the steering wheel at 10:30. When the split ring is off the splines have them move it to 12:00 and hold it while you engage the collar.
There's really nothing to hold the steering wheel in the correct position while you fidget with getting the collar back down around the spline shaft.

Just done mine by myself. Took about 30 minutes. Put masking tape on the steering wheel and top of the column marked the tape and measured. Needed to rotate clockwise 1/2 " at that point. Moved steering wheel so I could get to the bolt and the slot. Put on new masking tape and marked new alignment marks. Removed the split ring/collar, rotated the steering clockwise 1/2" then using masking tape secured the steering wheel. Reinstalled split ring/collar and all is well. Thanks TeJay for your tips.
