2015 F53 Triton V10 died at 34,000 miles
The check engine light came on as we were heading to Florida for the winter.
We have a 2016 Itasca Sunstar. With a 2015 Tritan V10.
34,000 miles is low. But the first mechanic said he sees a lot of Tritan failures. He showed us a crushed spark plug. He sent us to Conway Ford in SC because it is still under warranty.
Anyone else have this experience?

No, and I hope I never do. So sorry for your troubles. Dang. Spark plug crushed, meaning it hit the piston? Like as in blown engine? And for what it’s worth, I take my F53 to a large Ford dealer that works on fleet vehicles. He has always told me that the Triton is a bullet proof engine and sees very few catastrophic failures in the many years he’s run the fleet and MH business.

Not Yet but I hope they fix it quick for you, keep us updated.
I have a few commercial vehicles with this motor and no issues yet,
some with over 180,000 miles.

Crushed spark plug? That's a new one. Any chance of a picture?
I've seen them come apart when removing but that problem was solved for model year 2008 with a redesigned plug. Spitting plugs was a problem fixed when the 3 valve heads came out with model year 2006 for the F53 chassis.
My one problem was a throttle body servo motor magnetic (drive by wire throttle) came loose while on a local drive to get fuel after an outing. Check Engine Light, couple of codes related to the throttle, no throttle response, limp mode,,,. Towed home and fixed the next day with a bit of JB Weld.

The mechanic probably says that about any motor with issues that come into his shop, expect of coarse the one he is driving.
Sounds like you just got that bad build from the factory, on the Ford V-10 truck forums many have got up to 300,000 miles with little to no issues, some even while towing heavy loads..

On the Ford Truck Enthusiast forums, I remember reading about some timing chain and possible lifter issues on a couple years (2014/2015) of fleet V10s. If I remember right, these were high hour V10s that idled for thousands of hours, i.e. bucket lift trucks. I don't believe this would apply to MHs with low miles.. I seem to recall in the discussions that the mileage equivalents would be a couple hundred thousand miles.
The theory was that the idling could result in lower oil pressure and there was a possible discrepancy in a seal used on the chain tensioners that contributed to this..
PLEASE report back on what they found ....

It may not be a rod, something might have broke off inside the intake system and been sucked into the cylinder. Did he replace the plug and then you drove to the dealer? If so, how did it drive? I find it hard to believe it threw a rod but I guess anything is possible.

IIRC while reading various posts on other sites about the spark plug hole repairs is the fact that the threading tool can hit a valve unless the engine was in the correct position. Could your problem be caused by the timing chain issue also mentioned above?
Hope it all works out well for the op.

I was curious as to the final outcome of your engine failure.

Have a 1999 V10. 0 problens except replacement of exhaust studs and starter motor. Had a push to start button installed to bypass all the Ford sensors that would cause intermittent problems when turning key to start. Works great! 74000 miles uses no oil. I do changed out all fluids st 40000 and brake fluid every 3 years. Have rear brakes sliders greased and repack front bearings as per maintenance book.[emoji41]

86K on my 2006. I figure I will replace the engine with Ford crate around 120K miles. I would rather replace on my terms instead of podunk USA. I have always tried to replace vehicles way before 100K miles. My RV is in too good of shape to try and sell for a big loss at this point.
