22.5" wheels and tires have been optional on F53 the chassis since 2004.

Anyone have them?

I ask because the 22.5" wheel/tire package is about 13% bigger. I'm wondering if the effective loss of axle ratio is noticable? Fuel economy might even be a tad better? Does it have to downshift a lot?

Just curious.

Perhaps they change the axle ratio - or program the tranny shift points differently - with the 22.5" wheels. Anybody know?

Same axle ratio. Shift points are modified to happen at the same engine RPM points.

That's why I ask. They effectively have a different axle ratio. Wonder what it affects.

Maybe the design and cost of coach too allow for larger wheel openings for larger tires.
