I've seen in previous posts that a few folks have reported average 4R100 transmission temperatures in the 170s using their Scangauge. I just moved mine from my Supercrew to the RV and this morning I got about 155F on fairly level roads with no tow. Initially I thought this to be a tad high, but now I'm not so sure. Opinions? Thanks .

Keith

That's about right. Mine will run up to 170-180 going over Wolf Creek Pass.

My F350 has the stacked plate external cooler and the hottest I have seen in Texas , 95 deg F temperatures, is 165 deg F while towing. I do not know what it was stock. I recommend that on the e4OD or 4R100, you add a larger stacked plate cooler to help it on the hot days.
