The things I noticed:
1. Acceleration response was quick.
2. Shift points were where I though they should be. Meaning, I would think, "shouldn't this be shifting right about....oh...there it goes". I would categorize the shifting schema as a dramatic change...for the good. No more screaming engine in the mountains.
3. Fuel mileage was, maybe 2-3 tenths of a gallon better. More travel will help with less mountains in the way.

Hi Dave
I would suggest taking the RV on a road trip see how it does for you first. For Warranty talks i also always suggest talking with your Dealer and see what they accept for any after market products. Give us a call if you would like to discuss further.

thanks
Mike

I just moved up from a 97 to an 06. Not being ever satisfied, I am debating this over putting any Banks stuff on. Can you explain to me how this will change the shift patterns? Thanks.

Hi Pirate
We take the PCM code / strategy off your RV and pull that up in our calibration software. At that point we are looking at Fords factory maps, from here we alter factory maps and this file becomes a calibration / tune. These tunes are saved on an X3 flash device then sent to you and you simply use the obdii port to properly reflash PCM with new maps. The neat part is based on what you dont like we can change pretty much anything.
Give us a call if you want to talk more about it
thanks
Mike

I installed the 5Star 87 performance/tow tune from Mike in my Coachmen Freelander 32 foot (2 slide) E450 class C and I could not be more pleased. I am towing a 4300 lb Toyota 4Runner V8 4 down and all I can say is the V10 is a beast! I am amazed at how effortless the V10 pulls that much weight. I feel like I have power in reserve and during normal driving you never feel like you are taxing the V10 at all give it a little gas and it just goes.

One of the better upgrades I have done no doubt.

This is the first trip we have made since installing the 87 performance tune. I have a 2005 35 ft Georgie boy Landau with 3 slideson a f53 2004 chassis. We took a trip to Biloxi, Ms. We take this trip every year. I am extremely happy with the results. No down shift on slight up grades that we had before. It will still down shift on steep up grades. Before when it down shifted my scan guage would read 3.6 mpg. It still reads that when it down shifts. My scan guage shows a drop in speed but my scan guage now only drops to 5.7 mpg and no down shift. Before the tune I averaged 7.8 mpg. With the tune on this trip I averaged 8.3 going west and 8.2 coming east. I tow a 3200 pound hhr. In my opion you cannot beat the performance for what the cost is.

Thanks Mike

Just road 60 plus mile on SC Hwy 11 from I85 to Table Rock Park area. This is a very hill and long steep hills at times....the RV Tune is great, no gear searching, powers up the hills very well, if fact there were times I actually gained speed. I kept it at around 52 mph and no downshifts like before. I've been considering the 5 Star Tune for almost 2 years and reading others results...I'm extremely pleased thus far. As soon as my ScanGuage recalcs I'm be able to see if my mpg holds the same. Next trip in a few weeks to Nashville and I'll be able to share that info as well. Thanks to Mike...my 5 Star logo in the window and SCT emblems above the V10 on my MoHo.

Today, just installed the 5star tune on our 2000 coach and will soon find out how it performs on our upcoming journey to WA state in July.

Mike, Randy and JR were extremely patient in helping me muddle through with the download and install process. I can't thank them enough.

Just completed another trip with the 5star tune. Maryland to NY to Maine to Niagara Falls to Columbus to Kansas then back to Maryland.

Still impressed with the tune.

Kathy, how has you mpg been? I too am very impressed with the tune, only thing I've noticed is my final shift is quite strong but overall very nice. Just curious if you mpg has held the same. Txs
