I'd really like to have a new one in hand before trying to replace it rather than take it out and have it rebuilt. It is an Evans Tempcon RV 200788 and can't find one anywhere. There website doesn't list that model. Any other info on this job that is yr/model specific would be appreciated. TIA

As it's been the weekend, no. On my list for this AM. However, from the way their website looks, they don't sell to the public.

Tech support should be able to tell you if they have a replacement part number

Evans Tempcon will not talk to a consumer. They refer you to your MFG or an authorized distributor. There is no way to cross link my part # and the internet yields no heater cores for sale that might fit. I find it very odd that I'm the only one with a 10 YO Ford MH that needs a heater core and there's no one out there selling a replacement. It looks like this
and measures 7 1/2" x 13" x 2"
I did get it out of the MH today and have been advised that replacement is the best route.

You might have better luck asking folks with the same coach maker as yours. Ford doesn't supply a heater core with the chassis.

I have replaced one in a '99 Adventurer, but it was from SCS Frigette who is now out of business so that doesn't help you at all.

But, related to the Ford parts, you should have a restrictor in the line going TO the heater core. It reduces the pressure seen by the heater core. Might want to check it's still in place. The Ford hoses had them inside a hose with a crimp type clamp holding it in place.

OK, I talked to the people at Johnny's and that's the right part. My # was for the whole assy. How do I find this 'restrictor'? What does it look like? Before or after the temp control valve?

Never heard of this part.
It does not seam to be in any Ford or Evans manuals.
I do not see such a crimp on my Evans System either.

To make this thread somewhat complete, the correct Evans Tempcon part # for this is RV218060. There are only 3 or so heater cores so if the picture looks right it is probably the right one. The # for the whole assy was RV200788 & that includes the AC and the case. I also figured that the temp control valve was leaking fluid through to the core when in the off position and while I had everything disconnected I fixed it also. A little dremel filing on the 'off' stop and it works great. Simple fix that saved a $37 part.

After installing the mew heater core the hood would not shut. I discovered that the hot inlet tube of the heater core actually touched the hinge lever when trying to close. SO THAT'S WHY the old one had a bent tube and the new one was straight! I suspect that the bending had something to do with why it began to leak. I didn't want to bend the new one.
By positioning my camera inside & using the 10 sec. self portrait feature I was able to take a pic of the situation. The remedy was to grind about 1/4" off the arm. Here is the repaired pic. No more stresses on the fitting.
