A/C Dash Drain Hose

I have a 2000 Four winds Wind sport 35D. I can't find the dash A/C drain hose. I'm experiencing a wet floor on the passenger side. Anyone know where or how it is plumbed?

Well, you know it's a rubber hose coming from the low point of the black plastic plenum that contains the fan, heater core, and A/C evaporator. It could be routed out the front of the bulkhead in front of the dashboard, or out the bottom. You might find it by looking carefully under the front, looking for the end of one or more hoses. You could try pushing a wire up the drain hose when you find it if you can't find and disconnect it at the plenum.

Thanks. I have done the obvious checks. It seems to well hidden. Just was hoping someone else had the same problem and located the drain. I'm wondering if they ran it under the floor behind the plenum.

If it's allowing any water through at all, a couple of ounces of water poured into the plenum should help you find the drain line. That's how I've done it on this kind of problem in the past.

Many times the drain of an automotive-type AC unit will be a duck-bill valve (short length of rubber hose with the bottom end flattened) coming out of the low point of the AC housing somewhere under the hood. If this is plugged, condensation will sometimes backup in the housing and spill out inside the vehicle.

It might also help to know what chassis your motorhome is built on (probably Ford or Workhorse). Maybe another owner of the same chassis can give you something more specific.

Sorry, You are right . It is on a Ford F53 Chassis. I believe it is a high flow system. I'll try the water, no Duck bill found as of yet. It really has me confused. I have never in 35 years, had this kind of a problem locating a drain hose/port. If nothing else it is going to get some new drain holes.

Mine didn't have a hose on it when it was new. Just a nipple on the bottom of the heater A/C housing.

Kind of like this:

Being an F53 doesn't matter, Ford didn't supply those parts, Thor/Four Winds did. They used parts from Evans Tempcon or other supplier.

Thanks everyone. I found what I was looking for. There is just a small hole in the bottom of the plenum. No nipple or duck bill valve.
