Accessing V10 exhaust manifolds from inside cabin?

Can it be done in a 03 Winnebago Sightseer class A or does the motor have to be dropped?

Are you thinking about removing them??

On my 1999 Southwind, I removed the front wheels, This gave almost unlimited access to the exhaust manifolds.

I don't remember doing anything on the exhaust manifolds from the top, everything was done from the wheel wells.

accessing v10 manifolds

pulled manifolds and installed complete Banks kit on 1999 Allegro without any jacking. Forget trying to do it from the top. Good Luck Hugh

X3 here, pull the wheel off and you can sit in the wheel well and do what ever you need too.

Thanks....Got 57,000 miles now. Hearing a rattle when I accelerate and wondering if it could bee the studs. Taking to the shop Monday but owner says they can't remove engine.

No need to remove engine. As stated take off front wheels , all kinds of room to work.

Two items:

1) Early model F53 V10s made a rattling sound in the exhaust.. It sounds like a piece of metal fluttering in the muffler.. This is normal.. Ford added a restriction in the Y pipe in 2001 to reduce this sound.

Mine still makes the sound even though I installed long headers..

2) Unfortunately, yes, I bet you have broken exhaust studs.. These are normally on the rear most cylinders (#5 and #10) The rear of the manifold is gets exposed to heat from all five cylinders, where cyl #1 and #6 only see the heat from their cylinder..

Mine were the worst I (and the machine shop) I ever seen..

Nice write up on the job you did. Even though I had already fixed my broken studs a couple years ago I read though the whole thing.

I know on my MH direct access is by removing the front wheel(s)
It would be too difficult from inside and no need to remove the engine
