AK rver

Hi, I'm new to the "irv2" and need some help. On my way down to lower 48 in my 2009 Winnebago Adventurer had starting problems after running for awhile (engine hot, but not over heated). Sometimes it would start after many attempts and sometimes it would take a few hours to pass. Any clues?

My mh has the triton V10 on the Ford 53 chassis.

Laurance,

You might get more answers if you would specify which chassis and motor you have.

Define starting problems. Turn key-no sound? Turn key-one click each time key is turned? Turn key-steady clicking? Turn key-Starter turns engine?

Anchorage is were we're from, but we are taking winter break for the first time. May fly back and then take MH back next spring. Love alaska summers.

Turn key and nothing. I've got it in a Ford garage now and motel bound. I was disappointed when I talked to Winnebago and was told not their problem, talk to Ford.

Sorry to hear that. Where are you stuck?

Think I'm heading down the 26th. Just finished installing TPMS today, lubed the leveler legs and adjusted the step sensor.

Need to load it then weigh it so I can set tire pressure and I'm off.

Sorry we couldn't get your information sooner to help you out. Sure sounds like the relay between the ignition switch and starter motor.

Our previous MH, on the same chassis but with the 460, did the same thing. It was a relay as mentioned in the post above. According to several people we talked to this was not an uncommon problem.

Okay guys, It turned out to be a bad starter. I know a little about mechanics and this is the first time I've had a starter go out in that manner. I would have bet my last $ on a relay or solenoid. Anyway it was covered under the Ford warranty. Also it sure paid off having the Winnebago road side assistant insurance.
