There have been alot of discussions about this issue. I personally dont feel comfortable with any screw on flexible extenders. Look Here at some permanent mounted extenders. I am thinking about one of these for this year.

I've got the SS extensions on my inside and outside duals and haven't had any leaks or problems. They are held tight on the end and do not flop around to become loose.

I added the flexible stainless steel extenders on my 19.5's, but I used the type that only carry pressure while inflating. The valve in the extender has to be pressed down, to press the actual (original) valve on the wheel. With all the talk about these chafing through, I felt this was the safe way to go, while making tire pressure checks much less hassel, and have not regretted my decision! I got mine at Camping World.

Alcoa makes a solid metal extension and a rubber stablizer for you wheels. This is what i'am going to change to from flexable extensions. You can find them at the Alcoa web site. http://www.alcoa.com/alcoawheels/north_america/en/acces...docs/accessories.pdf

Your inner dual would be a steel rim, right?
Just wanted to be sure you check.

Yes the inner wheel is steel. With an angled valve stem.

yes the inner wheel is steel but the stem extension has to pass thru the aluminum wheel. i had extensions on the last mh and never had a problem in 69k miles. they came from the gbm factory. back in '92 i added extension from camping world to a 27 coachman and had problems with the inner wheel going flat, so i want to make sure i get the ones that don't have problems

I would think most or all decent truck tire service locations would have long metal valve stems, and many would have the Alcoa rubber stabilizers.
My Winnebago Ultimate came with long metal valve stems on inner duals, and metal stem turned to the outside on outer duals. When one long inner stem failed due to a crack soon after I bought it, a truck tire service place replaced the cracked stem and gave me two of the Alcoa rubber stabilizers. They said the stabilizers would likely keep the long stems from cracking again.
