Anyone change their front anti-sway bushings

im in the middle of changing the front stabilizer bar bushings on a 1996 e350 and have run into problems getting the new bushings into the I beams . the old bushings only had a shoulder on the front side where as the new set (from energy suspension co. made of polyurethane ) have a shoulder on both ends of the bushing. i cant get a bushing to start straight and go into the hole in the beam without being cockeyed. i think if i cut the shoulder off it will slide in easily . im wondering if anyone else ran into this. im using a piece of wood and big washer and length of threaded rod & nuts to pull them into the hole.

Don't be offended but I have seen it. Make sure the sleeve on the old bushing is removed from the twin I beams. I have not an issue installing new bushing with a socket that fits over the bushing lip and using a hammer. Maybe a pic of your new bushing may help since you are not going with the factory replacement.

Out of curiosity, how big of an effect did it have on the ride. I have this (Fnt, and rear) on my to do list. Just wondering if I should bump it to my "must do" list as that list gets attention much faster!
