Well I did the Banks Power system along with the Trans-command in my driveway. All in all the kit is very well engineered and the only modification I had to do was shorten a pipe, nothing a sawzall and 2 minutes couldn't fix. I haven't installed the Air Intake portion yet as I don't see a whole lot of benifit. Although I'm sure to get around to it sometime in the near future. No wfor the test run.....First off the tranny shifts are much firmer but not over bearing. The power is considerable. Taking off from a stand still only requires part throttle and is much "easyer". I took it on a hill on the highway next to my house, Befor: it would downshift out of OD and I would lose 5-10mph at full throttle. After: It does not drop out of OD and I can just roll into the throttle to maintain speed, although it was never floored. Both runs were with the same fuel and same weight. I feel much more confident in driving it around traffic. Oh and according to my neighbor and wife, it is quieter? I purchased it directly from Banks and installed it my self.
The Rig:
1998 33ft National Seaview
F53 Chassis w/460 and 4r100
It was unloaded, no water....., with 3/4 tank of gas.

If you have the means I highly recomend it.

We did the same with out 1999 Minnie Winnie and was pleased with the improved drivability of the coach. The V-10 seemed to have a much improved midrange power and could easily pull hills in OD that had caused aa downshift to 3rd gear...just like you experienced.

The kit was well engineered.

Ken

Did a DIY Banks upgrade on my 460/F40D in my driveway as well. Easy install except for the left header which was tight due to leveler hydraulics and framing under the drivers seat.

Very impressed with the power boost and cooler running engine. Only noticed a slight increase in noise and then only from outside the coach. Disconnected the Trans Command after a while though because the shifts seemed unnecessarily harsh.

Like you, I postponed the intake mod, but after I finally did it, it seemed to have a slight beneficial effect at full throttle.

Happy Motoring,

Yah, the dirver side headeer wa the most difficult, which is why I tackled it first. Good to know about the air intake. Thanks. I like the firmer shifts. But then again I have a 550hp mustang....without N2O.
