My core and housing are a little different then yours, RV2Traveler. But, I think the cut solution would have still worked, and been a lot easier. The back screws were a BEAR!!

Before I strike out on another of these projects, I'm definitely doing more research!!

Boy turned into an experience for sure. Had a few days down time after a strain of the new hip. But found enough to know I Wan the air intake designer forced to service every RV with that system. In place. I am making an adapter to put filter outside the main box so changing is the 5min job it should be...hrrrummmphhhh.hahaha

Radiator overheated after bypassing heater core because so much fluid gushed out already. Limped her home 600yrds at a time. Learned it's pretty much impossible to get to radiator petcock so had to remove lower radiator hose to drain. Needed new cap & for rotor and that felt so weird buying the replacing. I felt better as I misremembered cap firing sequence so had to look it up.

New thermostat...old one was stuck in place too some serious convincing to come out...it was really tired looking. In process of last radiator flush, almost clear last pass so try and take out a measured amount tomorrow and replace with concentrate antifreeze.

When we get back I'll tackle replacing the old core so we have heat & and defroster for out so "cold" California fall & is a winter...brrrrcold

Good luck! Sounds like you are doing a bunch of preventive maintenance tasks at the same time and that makes sense.
