Hello,
I was going to buy some Ride Rite 2170 air bags for the rear of my 2000 35' Itasca Suncruiser on an f53 chassis. My GVWR is 20,500#. But I looked under the rig and found that the top of my leaf springs are about even with the bottom of the frame, and the springs are about flat (not arched). Are my springs too far gone to add the RR?? The rig is fully loaded right now, with a full tank of water, gas, and propane. No doubt, the axle will drop when I jack up the rig to install the airbag, but will this be putting too much pressure on the bags? The rig has 15,000 miles on it. The frame is immediately to the right of the leaf spring in both photos below.

Thanks,

I put AIR-Lift all around on my 99 Newmar MA because of your problem.
The rear passenger duels would rub on ceiling of wheel well when coach rocked to that side and pass side was the heavier side also because of kitchen, Gen, batteries and larger storage compartments.
Your going to have to jack coach frame up and support with jack stands to work under the chassis.
I didn't take off rear tires and drill two more holes through frame for mounts with a pattern to match up to existing holes that were on frame.
Dealer said he could not install mounts because of the way the wheel well angle iron framing was placed, I had no problem. I cut out angle iron where the bag mount would be mounted on corner surface and replaced cut down angle iron either side of mount with a couple of new holes.
The air compressor I placed in a rear compartment with control valves and air pressure control for front air bags.
The rear bag control was up at the dash so I could control bag lift when weight would change, gas & water tanks, during travel.
They now have automatic level controls for a price with these systems now.
I had a 98 Newmar that I had springs added to level the coach all around which work out well also with better control of coach.
Both jobs cost about the same but my install of bags gave me more control of 99 coach.
Both rides were great much better ride on both.
Fords with Newmar box's just could not carry the weight during those years but thats all we had for chassis's.
Newer Fords & Workhorse is now a different story.
Good luck in your project and be safe which ever way you go it will be worth it.
Get front end aligned when done.
