Hi Yall. New to this forum. Looks like a good one. I have a 2000 Jayco, 27', on a Ford E450 chassis. My chassis battery seems to go dead in about 48 hours. I installed a blade type disconnect which does the trick but I know that its not right. I've been trying to trouble shoot it for a while. I think I might have hit on something. I think it may be the ignition switch. I've discovered when I turn the key off and remove it, the windows still operate. If I wiggle the switch without the key, the lights on the dash come on, wiggle a little the other way and they will go out but the electric windows still operate. Has anybody had or heard of this problem. Sure would be nice to not have to pop the hood and disconnect every time I park. thanks in advance..

Can't really suggest anything but welcome to the forum. Sure does sounds like you might check on having the ignition switch checked or replaced. Good luck..

Wasn't there a recall on some Ford ignition switches?

I'm not sure it's the same on your year chassis, but on my Ford truck the windows, radio, and wipers will operate for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off. After 10 minutes the relay drops out and none of the accessories work. If you open the drivers door the relay will also drop out. If your system is the same I would try to track down the relay. The timer may have gone bad leaving all the accessories powered up all the time.

Thanks Hikerdogs. Thats good information. When I connect the battery, I can hear a relay kick in. And also get a spark as if there is a load on the circut. The relay that I hear seems to be down low and hard to pinpoint. Mabye with another pair of hands, I can crawl underneath and have better luck. Opening the door dosent seem to make any difference although I have not tried that as a test. I'm asuming that relay is probably a dealer item...Thanks again
