Chassis battery life is such a wide variable amount of time - usage, charge frequency, storage temperatures, etc. I would say I usually get about 5 years on such batteries and usage. But have experienced failures at 2-3 years.

I bought my 1998 Pace Arrow in February 2007. After driving it home, I started checking everything out carefully. Fleetwood uses two six volt batteries in series for the house. I had a 6 volt and a 12 volt battery in series. The dealer removed the 6 volt battery and installed a 12 volt by mistake. I installed a single 12 volt battery for the house (We never dry camp, so I have no need for a lot of battery capacity. Plus I reduced the weight of the second battery.) Both batteries are still in excellent condition after 9 years. I use the battery minder when the coach is not being used. The pulse mode keeps the battery from sulfating when not in use.

Aviator 37,
How did you remove the battery? I have a 2010 chassis for my 2011 Sunseeker MH.. The battery has a "blanket"or a wrap around it and I cannot budge it.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

just replace my Ford original chassis battery with another motorcraft battery. It was still ok but didn't want to take a chance....so about 8 years or so.

My battery sits in a conventional battery tray behind the access doors in front of the coach. Mine does not have a fancy cover. After disconnecting, and removing the hold down foot at the bottom of the battery, it will just lift out. Note that this may require a little maneuvering around things, but it will lift out.

Why don't you just get it tested ?
Good electronic testers will give you a condition report.
Then you make your decision with that infomation.
My 5 year old toad battery let me down after using it to ferry stuff between the boat and MH ( Too many starts with no run time ). I got a jump, drove to Auto Zone and had it checked.
It showed OK but only 30% capacity. I decided to replace it.

Aviator 37,
Thank you for the reply. After I finally got that wrap off I was able to see the bolt for the hold down foot. Loosened that and battery lifted right out. Again thank you for your help.

My coach VERY much enjoys the Medium duty truck battery which I installed last fall.
I was unsure of the previous history on the main battery installed in the rig. I decided to replace it as preventative maintenance and noticed my rig not only started faster, but started smoother.

We got 10 years out of the four Interstate U-2200's in our '02 Dutch Star. The 4 8D AGM's in the present rig were gone when we bought the present rig last year But they still easily lasted us overnight. Main problem was one was hot and bulging. Now saving for a new set.

Mr_D: Good to hear about your Interstate batteries, I just bought some from Costco, hope they last just as long. But the OP is asking about chassis batteries not house batteries.
Speaking of Costco, why not buy a chassis battery there and never have to buy another battery again, that is if you exchange before 42 months.

No one really buys a battery, we just rent them. Four or five years on an RV battery is a long time because most batteries are not allowed to die a natural death, most are tortured and murdered with poor or no maintenance and often run down to untolerable levels. Or they are left charging and boiled dry.
