Koni F53 shocks for $119 w/free shipping

F53 Koni part numbers are 8805-1018 and 8805-1019, not sure about other applications.

Link above is to the 1018, they have teh 1019 also of course.

Price has me very tempted. I'd use a credit card to have some recourse if something goes sour, price being almost TOO good. Never dealt with Autoplicity.

The picture they have on their web site is incorrect, P/N is correct. On Koni's web site it shows that P/N fit 99-14 chassis. Very good price for a single shock, most places want you to buy four and prices are still higher then Autoplicity. While my Bilstiens are not that old, I'm going to try the Koni's on the front and see if their as good as others say.

I ordered two for the front, hopefully they will make as much difference as others say they do.

Appears to be a reasonable price but I'll hold off as I have less than 20k on the OEM shocks. Let us know how the ride is with the new shocks.

Here's the Koni mfr link showing the shocks:

Heard a lot about Koni shocks. However, haven't heard WHY they are so special over all other brands. Besides all the brand hype what specifically do they have that no other company has?

They are a total hydraulic shock made in Holland. They weigh twice as much as a Bilstein gas shock. Our rig rode terrible when new on bridge and road seams. At 700 miles I took the junk Bilsteins off and put on Konies. A world of difference and worth every penny. You just have to try them to believe it. Ford users Bilsteins as that's the cheapest junk they can find to put on their new chassis. It's all about cost. And don't just do the fronts, you need them all the way around.

Just made the plunge on Autoplicity. Never heard of this outfit, so fingers crossed. I hope it is real. I read on the Winnebago forum that someone recently ordered Koni's from them and the order was cancelled a few days later saying out of stock. I will post the results.

Now for the trac bar....

At check out they, Autoplicity has the option to pay through Amazon which I did. Received an order update from Autoplicity letting me know the shocks will be direct shipped from the manufacturer. Will take 1-3 days longer to receive the order. They do have good pricing, on Koni's web site they show the list at $177.

We swapped ours for Koni FSD's about 3 years ago. The most remarkable thing we noticed was the way they respond to slab joints. The ride, while it isn't as soft as air-ride, it is a marked improvement over conventional shocks and here's why.
" HOW DOES IT WORK?

In standard shock absorbers the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow*(I)going through the piston assembly.Combining it with the FSD feature, KONl added a special valve which is able to control a parallel oil flow next to the one going through the piston. This parallel oil flow*(II)*is closed by the FSD feature, giving a rise in damping force almost linear to the time that the piston is moving in one direction.Put simply: the FSD feature is a hydraulic amplifier that delays the build up of pressure. One could say that an extra tuning option has been created in order to get the best possible combination of handling and comfort. Since it is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system inside the damper, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed to operate an FSD damper.FSD is the simplest and most economic way to significantly improve the ride and driving characteristics of every car. Certainly in comparison with costly systems which work on the basis of computer technology, complex electronics and sensors." You can go to YouTube and view a video of how the valve and piston works.

OK, I also took the plunge with Autoplicity.

Hope they are for real and not just a PO Box in Nigeria.

Has anyone actually received anything from them?

Other then emails from Autoplicity and Amazon confirming the purchase, no. To early for the shocks. Hopefully, since my payment went through Amazon it us a real company.

Checked the status of my order on the web site. Still shows it's active, shipping is pending. Checked the 8805-1018 shows 7 in stock. Since they ship direct from the manufacturer, they must buy them by the lot and the manufacturer holds them for Autoplicity. Hard to explain what happened to your order.
