If it was me I would have thought about it like the old freeze plugs if they don't come out knock them in. That being plastic I would not have fought it.

Cheater! Lol. This is the largest thread I have ever seen for a mechanical change on a vehicle which speaks volumes about the success people have had with it including myself. Why this has not been made a sticky is weird.

Mike - Yes. I agree, a little.

1) Make sure the ABS parts are only the plastic outer shell and not the internal metal parts. If the ABS metal parts drop down inside, I would pull the differential cover and retrieve them.

2) If its only the plastic, try to get them out, but if they fall inside, say a few cuss words, install the new sensor, and don't worry about it.

So I got started on my rear track bat and picked up the top link at TSC farm store, $21.99 they also had a bracket that is almost perfect and it was 16.99. Total $42 so far. I got my template made out of a piece of sheet metal and will get a buddy to burn me a copy out of 3/8" plate. The bracket has one hole that lines up with the frame and I will have to drill one. Will post pics in a bit.

Knighttab,
Great idea with the brackets. I never thought of looking for a bracket at any of these Tractor Supply stores. I guess I can go back to bed. I told my students that I always tried to learn something new every day. It's 9-AM so I guess the day is over.

TeJay - Good point.

I'm going to swing by TS and see if they have those brackets. I may use two of them to help spread that load into the frame rail a little better.

KnightTab;

Can you scan your template and make a PDF of it. If you scan it place a 12 inch ruler on the scan table next to the template so when the pdf is printed, people can verify the size with their own ruler.

I'm also going to look at the diff on mine and see if the bolts per your template. I think its different. I'll do like you did and make a template out of thin sheet metal. good idea.

AS SOON AS IT WARMS UP

I will try to do that. Mine is a Dana 80 rear I believe. Cover on the back.

Here are the pdf's no guarantee dimensions are correct, I kept moving dimensions till I got them to line up with my template but it is not perfect. Obviously for the link bar you need to add material at the top.

Are you guys familiar with using some stiff paper and a ball peen hammer to cut the bolt holes for a template??? That's what I did then transferred that to my 1/2" metal. I guess there must be a trick with using some sheet metal and still getting the holes to line up correctly.

If you really want a change go to www.ralllysrus.com and check out his sway bar and rear track bar. Replaced front sway bar with larger bar; added additional sway bar behind rear diff. and rear track bar. This really changed sway and handling on Allegr Open Road. Dave
