You say yours is a 99 year M/H, or a 99 chassis & 2000 M/H.
Those pics you post of the rear end, look just like my 98 chassis does, but the sway bar mine is under the rear axle, not over top of it.
Wonder why the change in bar location if yours & my chassis are maybe the same year.
The center of the sway bar, is mighty close to that speed sensor plug on top of the axle housing on your rear axle.

Mine is a '99 made in march of '98, so I have to assume its a '98 chassis.

Should have also said, that the pig is protected by two castings on the top of the pig to prevent any damage to the sensor. It has done its job even though with no bushings there is still no damage to the castings. The difference between no rear bushings and now having them in place have made, I'm sure a big difference in the fix it self.

Ran into a 40 mpg cross wind on the way and the difference was fantastic!

so if it's coming from the correct side you just drive with the gas cap off???

Dont think that 40 mph wind will make a difference in mpg, not a side wind anyways, not unless you may be thinking in terms of a sail boat, how the wind would work with those.

I forgot to ask, the pic of the front sway bar you post, is that with the wheels on the ground, no jacks lowered ??.

My new MH the sway bar in the rear was falling off had it fixed major difference in the way it drove!!!!

Believe me, a 40mph cross wind will affect mileage and make you wish you had done the "Cheap Handling Fix"..

mjoemort, I like the sound of it - "The McKinley Fix".
Now I have my own mountain and my own Fix.

And now another benefit - it looks like everybody crawling around under their MH's to do the Fix has uncovered a previously unnoticed problem with the Sway Bar bushings. Serendipity, I guess.

Not me! Mine were so snug, I had to use a jack to rotate them to the new holes.

after reading the comments about shot bushings, i bought a new set, as i figured mine were problay need the, and when i crawled under ,they still look like new, go figure
