I know there has been some discussion on this but I don't think for awhile. Does anyone have any recent experience with chips on a 2001 Ford V10 6.8L or close to this year? Or does anyone have experience with purchasing chips on the Inet. There are a couple of companys that come up when I inquire. They are PCD (PowerChipdirect) and ACD (Autochipdirect). Thanks for any input.

I prefer sour cream and onions myself

That is what you were asking, right?

Check out SCT Tuner from Mike at 5 Star tuning. There is a few threads on this tuner it really firms up the shift points and the power increase is noticeable.

I used a tuner from brazels in a 1999 275hp 2 valve v10. The difference was amazing. WAY more power throughout the rpm range, but the biggest difference was the transmission and the shifting. Where before it would start downshifting at the sight of a hill on the horizon, with the ultrapower tune I could control what gear it was in strictly by how far I pushed the throttle.

I would recommend either 5 Star Tuning or Brazel's RV Performance, both sponsors on this forum. I went with the Tuning upgrade from 5 star and it seemed to help with the power somewhat. If you do decide to go that route installation of exhaust headers and low restriction exhaust system & muffler would beneficial.

Good luck and safe travels...

I used Brazel previously on a 2000 model F53 and was very pleased with the positive result. With our next coach, a 2006 F53, I researched and found a new player, 5 Star Tuning. The price difference in the 2 upgrades is the reason I chose 5 Star. The results are excellent. The shift points are perfect. There is no more unnecessary downshifting on grades and the acceleration improvement is significant. I highly recommend the 5 Star upgrade. Totally satisfied with the performance improvement.

I made a mistake in the name of one chip. I called it PCD (powerchipdirect) but it should be (performancechipdirect). Sorry about that.

I too recommend Mike at 5Star. My motorhome feels like a totally different vehicle with more power and the shift points are like they should have been from the factory.
