Hi Rick,..Welcome...
Sounds like a bad connection...maybe ground..next time it happens take a jumper cable, hook one end to chassis neg battery terminal and other end to frame or other good ground source..see how it starts.If no change then check your alternator output ,maybe stator is going bad, also look at the ign switch for melted wires... more members will comment soon....maybe this helps.
