Dash battery light with generator

I have an odd issue on my 2003 F-53 chassis. If I run the generator while traveling and put no "extra" load on the chassis battery, my dash board battery light come on. If I turn on Headlights or dash air blower, the "load" is sufficient to make the light go out. The chassis battery and house batteries are fine, fairly new and charge maintained while in storage. Any Idea of reason.

The same thing happens with my solar charging. When driving, the two batteries are connected together by the Battery Isolation Solenoid being activated by the ignition switch to charge the house batteries. The converter, powered by the generator, is putting out a charging voltage that confuses the chassis charging circuit.

Alternator regulators sense voltage, above battery voltage, to turn off the Battery Light.

Your converter is charging your chassis batteries thru the isolation solenoid, which is activated, and the alternator senses this, so it turns on the light. It also is going for a free ride.

When you draw some current like lights or chassis AC, the voltage drops and the alternator wakes up and charges.

So...can I assume that this is not hurting anything? Should I put a switch on the converter so I can shut it off in these situations?

Thanks
