has anyone solved the small squeeks that come from somewhere around the dash area. they seem to be worse in warmer weather, and once the a.c. gets rolling, they seem to be a lot quieter.

could be caused by slight rubbing of dash against sidewall where it's attached, just a thought.....

A couple of tricks...
Sometimes spraying a light coat of ArmorAll or STP Son of a Gun can provide a little lubricant to placstic and rubber parts rubbing against each other. Go slow with this and test it on a known "pipsqueak"... it may make the problem worse with some materials.
I have also used toothpicks as "shims" between plastic dash panels and trim fittings. If you push the toothpick in tightly and break it off, it becomes invisible. For larger gaps, matches will also work.
Avoid using styrofoam to pack or insulate anything under the dash... that stuff squeaks if you look at it hard!!
Good Luck... I know these things can be very annoying...

I'm in the same boat as you, billyb. Ours seems to come from the middle where the dash meets the plastic/rubber bar that holds the 2pc windshield together, & like you, it's worse in the heat. Haven't been able to silence it yet. Will keep trying though.

i titghtened some screws up under the hood that look like they are the mounting of the dash to the firewall last night, but i'll have to wait until the next trip to see if that does any good. they were mostly loose and very hard to reach. i couldn't get to the far end ones or the ones over the ac box. i sprayed silicone on the front spring hangers and also down the fornt of the dash, but i'm pretty sure now that the squeeking is coming from the dash area. i didn't have the squeeking until recently and after 16k miles.

Come to think of it, I don't think our squeek started until about 12,000 mi or so. Maybe something's have worked loose. I'll check screws. Thanks!

Since this thread is in the Ford Forum, I guess you think this is a Ford issue. I think it's more of an individual MH Mfg. issue, since they build in everything that eventually squeaks. My two cents, however it's a good topic. I'm hoping to get some advice as I have some.

WOW, a small squeak in the dash area, huh?
Never noticed, can't hear much over the big squeak coming from the TV.

I have found that a very small amount of WD40 around where the TV glass meets the plastic works real good for a while but dries up after a couple of weeks.

Solved most of my squeak problem by luck. Being a gasser I opened the front engine compartment and noticed a slight area where it was rubbing on the body opening. Small weather striping around the opening and what i thought was a dash squeak is gone.

my bad sqeeking is gone after tightening uo 8 screws under the hood where the dash is attached to the firewall. 1200 miles and its pretty quiet ,now all i hear is the plastic rubbing sound from around the tv. it kinda of comes and goes. i guess i will have to check those screws yearly.

Had same problem. Used weather stripping. and no noise. For the TV I used a piece of rubber mat fitted to the iside bottom and it is all quite now.
