We live in IA and the 89 gets a tax break due to 10% ethonal. I can tell no difference in mpg or engine performance. I use what ever is the cheapest 87 or 89 depending on the state we are in. I do the same with the Goldwing. I have ran the ethonal in all my cars from my 63 Studebaker to our Prius and have had no problems with any of the cars.
