Driveline parking brake problems

I have a 2002 class A MH built on a F-53 chassis. I would like to have access to the driveline parking brake shoe. Is it possible to remove the flange and the parking drum from the parking brake assembly without removing the parking brake assembly from the transmission. I removed the drive shaft. I removed the 4 hex nuts attaching the flange and the brake drum to the outpout shaft. As per a schematic I have I tried to removed the flange and the parking drum. But nothing moved. The schematic I have is for a 1998 F53 chassis. I did not find one for a 2002 chassis. The question is. Is it possible to have access to the parking brake shoe the way I tried to do it. And is it possible to find a 2002 parking brake schematic.

Thanks

It seems rebuilding the parking brake must be done with the whole assembly off the transmission. I was a bit surprised by how complicated it is. You might investigate a rebuilt unit and just swap it out.

If memory serves me correctly, you have to disassemble the assembly to get the brake shoe springs off.
