Dually Clearance

I replaced some Goodyear G670 with Michelin XZE. Both are sized 245/70/19.5. I went with LRH on the XZE's. Was looking at the dual spacing today and noticed that it appeared to only be less than an inch. I haven't measured it yet (too cold). This is the exact tire size that Ford calls for in the book. Wondering what is going on. How much space should one have between the duals. Can I put in a 1/2 spacer?

245/70R10.5 tires require a rim width of 6.75" if your rims are of that width, the spacing for your duals should be OK.

we own a 2008 windsport, 235/80 22.5 tires. the space is closer then you would think it would be. We have an inch give or take a little. That is why a flat on the inside tire is bad. It rubs the inside of the outside tire and they heat up and could cause a blowout. We installed a set of TPMS on all 6 tires.
