I have a 99 F53 chassie and am having a problem with the emergency brake. The lever on the drum brake moves when I step on the emergency brake but I get no brake at all. Checked the resivour for fluid it is full. Checked with Ford they tell me no parts avaliable must buy entire emergency brake asmb. Over $1000.00 Has anyone had one of these units apart and what might I expect to find when I dissamble it. Any help would be greatly appreciated don't really have an extra $1000.00 right now.

Thanks Chuck

Joe thanks for the link. Quite interesting. Looks like a lot of work and access to a machine shop. Plus Ford says parts not avaliable. But I may try and tackle it.

Thanks
