Exhaust pipe, Ford or muffler shop?
I need to replace the exhaust pipe from the muffler to where it exits the passenger side of the motorhome because of rust. For those who have done something like this, did you find it easier (and cheaper ) to buy the pipe from Ford or to have a local shop just bend and install one? Thanks.

Saw these on ebay a bit ago. Aluminized, not stainless, and passenger side exit. Considerably less than list price.

That is an awesome price on a cat back system. Anyone on here have experience with the Thorley cat back system or headers?

Thorley makes good stuff.
I did my entire system, headers on back and am pleased with the power increase. I used Hedman coated headers and a pre-bent full exhaust kit from Flowmaster. All aluminized pipe and a low restriction muffler. All bolt together. You might look into what they offer for your chassis.
At the least, I would replace the factory Ford muffler too as they are quite restrictive. The Flowmaster mufflers are great BUT kinda loud. If that bothers you, Walker makes a "Big Truck" muffler that will flow well and still keep the noise down. Bolt that on and then have a muffler shop bend up aluminized pipe from the muffler out back.

Yeah, I shoulda done that. I got a chrome tip added to ours & it's a PITA to keep that mirror-finish.

Thanks Stump! Let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything else. I just had some 2.5" pipe bent for my truck by the local exhaust shop, about 5' long in stainless and it ran me $50.

I just replaced the muffler on my son's 1989 Bounder with the 454 and a Banks Setup. I made up a streight through muffler that went on behind the catalitic converter. It is very quiet. If I had known how quiet it would be I would have left off the Muffler and just let the cat hush it down.
