I have read a lot of threads discussing this in tank fuel pump problems on the pre 98 F 53 chassis. Is there anyone who hasnt had problems with this pump ? My 96 Damon Intruder has 34,000 miles on it and dont know if PO had changed it. We're leaving on a 2500 mi (roundtrip) and Im a little worried about this pump especially in this heat..Thats why I'm wondering if anyone has'nt had problems..
Thanks
Don

Our previous MH was a 1996 Coachmen Mirada 34'. I bought it with 25,000 miles on it and sold with 31,000 miles it. This was a span of over 3 years. It was also on the f53 chassis. We never had any troubles out of it. We bought it off of the original owner and stated he never replaced either. Maybe one or the lucky one...I don't know.

The pump is a submersible type where the pump motor is cooled by the fuel. Supposedly failure issues can minimized by not letting fuel get too low in the tank. Anyway so I've been told by owners of pre 1999 f53 chassis.

Might not be a bad idea to have a replacement pump to take with you just in case.

Good luck and hopefully you'll have a fun, safe and trouble free journey...
