F53 Chassis Lube

I noticed the manual for my 2014 F53 Chassis says to lube the U-Joints as well as the points on the front end about every oil change. Didn't see any zirk fittings for the U-Joints. Any advice on how to do it?

Hello, I don't have my Ford manual in front of me, but I thought the lube is do at 15k? Also, I recall the same thing about the U joints, but also recall a note about some that are equipped with sealed u joints on certain drive trains.....would be interested to find out. also my RV shop is where I have been getting my oil changed, and they said they just do the lube each time though. I have not thought to ask them about the U joints

If there is no fittings then the u-joint is a sealed non-serviceable one so no grease is needed. Look at the side of the cups, sometimes there is a needle fitting there.Click image for larger version

A lot of stock U-joints will not have a place to lube. If it is one like above and if that cap is removable then a Zerk fitting can be installed and then greased.

The F-53 chassis has the standard fittings for chassis lube. Four 2 on each side for the upper and lower king pins. Four tie rod ends and/or drag links and one on the steering gear box for a total of 9.

Google F-53 grease chart and you'll see a lot of pictures showing the locations.

Ford uses multiple suppliers for universal joints. Depending on the date of manufacture you may or may not have u joints that can be lubed. Our 2001 chassis had joints that could be lubed, however we traveled with several other couples that had the same chassis, ours was the only one with joints that could be lubricated. Our 2013 chassis doesn't have joints that can be lubed.
