Anyone out there the fuel shutoff safety switch is located on a F53 Ford chassis? One of the last things I need to check before calling to have my RV towed to the Ford shop.

Well first it should be in the manual. If it's not call a ford dealer, If that does not work try calling either U-Haul or Hertz.. (Any company that rents out Fords)

I always make sure I know where that )(@#*%$@ switch is when I drive fords.

Finally called Winnebago and they were clueless, then called Ford. Finally discovered that the inertia fuel safety shut off switch was eliminated on the 2011 F53 chassis.

Waved the white flag and called Ford back for a tow to the dealership. They'll have to figure out why it doesn't run. Then I'll only have to deal with whatever they break fixing it.

It is a reset button. It is in the fork of the steering wheel support. As you sit at the steering wheel. reach forward and feel around the steering wheel column. On top of the support bracket you will feel a reset button. just push down on this.

GA Traveler - Not according to Ford. As I mentioned earlier, the tech there looked at the wiring diagrams and there was no safety switch. haven't heard back from the dealer yet. I'll let everyone know what the results there are.

The inertia fuel pump cut-off device will not be found on the later model Ford chassis as it was eliminated with the 2008 model year.

Fuel System
• New fuel filter location.
• Fuel pump inertia switch has been eliminated.
• Fuel pump delivery module is relocated from the left frame rail to the right frame rail."--

Safe travels

Called dealer for an update on the RV. Seems that the problem wasn't with the PCM but caused by squirrels . They had somehow gotten behind the main fuse panel under the hood and chewed some wiring associated with the injector circuits and fuel pump. That's $ 400 worth of damage I hadn't planned on, plus another $ 6 for rat poison. Seems that the sqirrels around here are zine depleted and like to chew on anything that is galvanized, tin plated or the plastic insulation on wiring.

Sorry for the bad advice I retired in 2008 and did not know they had removed the reset.

Sorry to hear about the squirrel attack on your wiring, however, you now have valid justification to go squirrel hunting.

They are edible you know......

Good luck with the repair and safe travels..

Had the same squirrel problem except it was $395.00 worth of gas line on MH and last winter $450.00 of gas line on my pickup. Found out you can hardly posion them. Now using 12ga shot gun and it works everytime.

Don't live in town, but population density is still a little high to get out the shotgun. Think that the neighbors and the county sheriff might object. Trying some poison first, then will resort to a pellet rifle. Not about to put up with it though.

I wish you luck. Tried the pellet gun myself with no luck. (I guess my eyes are not as good as they where and it takes a direct hit to do any good) Told the neighbors on both sides of me I was going with the 12ga and they were happy. Seems the little buggers were in their atic and they wanted them out.
