What year did F53 go with the 6 speed Transmission?

Winnebago incorporated the 2016 chassis with the six speed transmission mid model year.

Some 2016 Winnebagos are built on the 2015 Ford chassis.

Easy way to tell us to look at the transmission selector indicator.

If it has D 3 2 1 it is a 2015 Ford chassis.

If it has D 4 2 1 it is a 2016 Ford chassis.

Tiffin did the same. Some early 2016s came with the 5 speed. I checked very carefully to make sure that mine came with the 6 speed. Of course with two different salesmen I had to explain how to tell by looking at the shifter as JD said.

The 2016 model year. I think they started building them in about May 2015. I had one of the first ones and was very instrumental in persuading Ford to fix the inoperable tow haul feature.

Salesmen are generally ignorant when it comes to technical issues.

I have the 617th 2016 Ford F53 chassis. I started the post about the P0302 Engine Light.

Ford tried cleaning my crank shaft sensor but that didn't fix my problem. I spent a lot of time on the phone talking to Ford about the P0302 issue.

We were traveling around the US from Washington State. Ford found that there was a programming error that caused the engine light. Our computer was flashed in Wise Virginia by a very accommodating Ford dealer. Our P0302 problem was resolved.

There were quite a few people involved in talking to Ford about the P0302 engine light.
