Post #9 fooled me. I thought based on what he (spyderRV) said that he was the OP. My mistake!! He's not it's ChuckL and he's not responded to this thread since his original post.

Lets hold tight until the OP responds and he needs to provide a bit more clear information!!!!! He was waiting for a tow. Who knows?? It may be in a shop being fixed while we search for answers.

Sorry for not coming back, had some wifi issues, but anyway, I appreciate all the comments but the problem is not the brakes, as the unit rolls quite nicely back and forth. It's parked on a slight incline so when it goes back there is just enough gravity to pull it forward. I did the relearn to reset the shift and idle settings and of course that's when I found out the unit will not shift to a forward gear. It has been towed to a repair shop and the code does indicate a problem with the transmission, mechanic thinks it's just a transmission flush and cleaning will take care of the issue. They won't get the unit into the garage until Monday to start repairs.

If your tranny guy is saying a flush and fill will fix it ,I have a bridge for sale.
In the transmission ,which I dont believe was stated the type you have,the forward clutch pack is either bad,or a valve in the valve body has become stuck,not letting fluid go to the forward clutch.
I dont understand how the trans would stop the engine from revving up in forward but lets it in reverse.

Personally, I wouldn’t flush the transmission. I know too many people who have had a transmission flush and then the transmission goes a short time later.

Secondly, if it moves in reverse and not forward a flush doesn’t sound like the solution to me.

Sounds like a forward clutch pack solenoid wiring problem.
Look for bad connections or maybe a rodent did a little damage by chewing some wiring while in storage.

That will only change how harsh or smooth the shifts are, it has nothing to do with whether or not the shift happens.

The mechanic is either setting you up to be scammed, or he doesn't know what he's doing. Either way this isn't good.

It's not because of the flush, it's because they didn't do any maintenance on the transmission until a problem developed, then they did a flush hoping that would fix it. But it was already broken and new fluid didn't fix the broken parts and the trans failed.

There is no forward clutch pack solenoid, so there is no wiring to this non-existant solenoid. There is NOTHING electrical that can cause no forward engagement. It has to be something mechanical.
