F53 transmission won't move forward
Just took 2007 Fleetwood Bounder 36Z out of winter storage, reinstalled battery and completed the procedure to reset the transmission and idle adjustments, but when I went to go forward I have no forward movement or ability to accelerate but it will accelerate and move in reverse. I'm currently waiting for a tow truck to take the unit away but has anyone else experienced this problem?

Can you explain the reset procedure you are referring to? I have owned 2 F53 chassis' and haven't heard of it. Not saying it doesn't exist, just looking to be educated.
Are you saying when you try to go forward and press on the gas pedal nothing happens? RPM's don't go up?

Hi Chuck! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
Just noticed you are kinda new on IRV2 and wanted to say hello. Hope that problem turns out to be a minor one!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

The engine likely requires a relearn after battery removal. The transmission computer will also require a relearn. However, it shouldn’t prevent motion. Are the brakes dragging? Not totally familiar with that chassis, does it have a cable actuation of the parking brake?

My thought as well. I believe the parking brake is cable actuated and mounted to the rear of the transmission.

Have you checked the fluid level? Have you tried other than Drive position of the the shift lever?

I doubt the shift cable would go bad in storage but you might want to see if it is properly aligned.

My thinking is that the shoes may be stuck to the drum assuming he set the parking brake when he put it into storage.

""I have no forward movement or ability to accelerate but it will accelerate and move in reverse.""
Wouldn't a stuck drum also prohibit reverse also?

Maybe but i wouldn't overlook checking it out. If it sat through the winter with the ebrake engaged it wouldn't surprise me.

Easier to turn in reverse.

First of all the parking brake should be around the differential and not on the rear brakes. Unless back in 2007 he had rear drums and the PB was in fact on the rear drums.
I don't know what was being done back in 2007.
If he has rear drums and the parking brakes are part of the rear drums if it's stuck on he can go back but not forward. WHY? They are referred to as "Self-energizing". That means when the brakes are applied going forward the rotating drum causes a wedging action and they get tighter. Going in reverse that action does not happen.
The OP lives in TX but the RV is a 1999 and could have spent some time in the salt rust belt and that will cause a lot of rusting underneath over a short time.

My MH sat over the winter and as the Automatic Park Brake was actuated when I started it the cable would not release all the way causing the park brake to hang up causing the same symptoms. Disconnected for now, as the park brake pedal will do the same thing just not automatically. Have to take cable off and lube it as the Automatic operation is a lot more fool proof.
Motor would not rev up much going forward but would move in reverse as per the above post because of how they set.

If I recall I think the PB on my 99 F53 was on the back of the transmission but not 100%on that.
