MH is out of warranty, need to do the thermostat an crossover tsb. How hard is it to replace the crossover pipe? Do I need to remove the alternator, or will it slide out from behind it?
Thanks,
Bill

Sure you're not covered? Ford extended their powertrain warranties in July '06. You bought yours before July?
Hmm, just found a post on 5-10-06 that said you just bought your motorhome. 3/36,000 warranty would expire in two months. You must have over 36,000 miles then?
You're so close to being covered, I'd ask what the dealer could do. They have (had?) a program where they could fix things like this for a small fee, kind of pretended that you had an extended warranty with a small deductible. Cost us $50 to have both rear window mechanisms replaced on our Lincoln LS a while back. It was a "R" program or something like that.

tderonne,
Thanks for the idea, I will give it a try. Yes, I did buy in April of 06, and no, I don't have 36k yet. Will call Carson dealer tomorrow. Will let you know.

Talked to dealer, they said they will honor warranty, and look at it.

I was told today it is the false overheat TSB. Working with the selling dealer to correct purchase date. When corrected, Ford will cover it under warranty. Both dealers have been great.

Got MH back last Thursday. Seems to work okay. Temps are definitely lower. Scan gauge showed 207 at idle before the fix, 195 after. Normal street driving netted 198 max. Taking it out later this month, look forward to see freeway temps.
Thanks All,
Bill

Bill did the tsb fix the problem? I just had the same issue returning from FL. I have 33k on the RV and this is the first time I seen this overheat issue. I just bought the scanguageII last year.
Thanks for any feedback.

This post is old but I need to know if anyone has done this TSB themselves? I am trying to find out what is involved. I looked it over today. The pipe goes below the alternator. I don't know if I have to remove it or if the pipe will wiggle in below it. Thanks.
