I have a 2010 Georgetown that is slowly leaking power steering fluid. I would like to take it to a Ford dealer to have it fixed under warranty but I am having a heck of time finding a Ford dealer that will work on it.

I was on the road all summer hoping a local dealer in each place I was would do the work. No luck. I just kept topping it up until I got home to Toronto, Ontario. There are so many dealers here I assumed one could do it but I have called a bunch and none can handle the large RV. They can't even recommend one that can.

I gave up and called CoachNet to do the looking for me and the closest they could find is in Hamilton, Ontario, about an hours drive away which will be a real pain if they want to keep it.

How do people go about finding dealers that will actually service their RV?

Are there other places I can call that can do Ford warranty work?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Stuart Norman

Stuart, you might try calling the Ford Customer Service number, in the States it's 800 444-3311, perhaps they can help.

Best of Luck

This is a very common problem. An hours drive to a heavy Ford truck service facility is real common. I suggest you talk to a good local shop and see if they can fix it by tightening up something or something equally simple. An hours drive will cost you over fifty $ in gas and that savings will offset the cost of the local mechanic.

I bought a Ford chassis thinking it would be easy but have come to the conclusion that it is far better to buy an older coach where you can get many local people to do your work. Even the diesels I owned could be worked on locally easier than the current ford. I am 70 miles east of Dallas Texas.
