I have a small fluid leak (red in color ). It is collecting on the underside of the air cond pump, then dripping on ground. I have looked from top and bottem and for the life of me I cannot find source of leak. Trans fluid is full and red in color, but leak is so small it would take forever to show. I know there is probably a small amount of oil in air cond pump and I dont want that to burn up and throw the belt if thats it. Anyway I am out of ideas. I would welcome any help and thanks in advance. Motor is an 04 V10.

The ac oil is clear or light tan in color. Only if a tracer dye has been added it may be a yellow or lime green or any other color depending on the dye added. Red to me would indicate trans or power steering fluid. If it is ac oil refrigerant is also leaking and a leak detector will verify this. As for the pulley brg. locking up it uses a sealed brg. independent of the system. Only with the ac on is the belt of concern. My 05 always has a red drip on the ps pump found on the drivers side at the bottom.

Thanks auto, that gives me a much better understanding of what may be involved. I'll continue to keep a close eye on it.

I never use my dash a/c. Maybe I should so I can see if I have this problem.

Ditto to what Richard S. said.
In fact, I just picked up my 2006 from the Ford dealer yesterday. They replaced the A/C compressor under warranty. My fluid leak was red in color.

Just took mine in for what I believe is the same problem. Checked underneath and it looks like the seal or gasket has oil seeping from it. Ford dealer said it"s only 36 month warranty so I think I'll be s.o.l as I have an 2006. Just wondering how the other 06's got covered under warranty? Thanks

While my Seabreeze is a 2006, I purchased it in April of 2007. So, my warranty doesn't expire until April of 2010.

Just received call from dealer. Yep, compressor needs to be replaced. Total $998, Good Sam extended service plan covered it all except my 250 deductible. Thanks for the help
