I have a '95 34' Cruise Aire with an EFI 460 engine which I prefer to drive in the 57 mph to 62 mph range. With the 3 speed plus OD tranny this equates out at about 2000 to 2400 RPM.Can anyone direct me to a graph of the torque ratings of this engine -- I'm tring to figure out the best bang for my buck at these speeds.
Thanks,
Dave

I've got the F53 chassis under my Pace Arrow and I've wondered the same thing. Edmunds.com shows the F350 chassis from that year having 395 ft/lbs at 2400 rpm , 245 horsepower at 4000 rpm.

The difference I'm curious about is the catalyst issue. Since the motorhome chassis has no catalytic converter and minimal emissions equipment, is the horse and torque significantly better? And then add the intake and exhaust mods and what is your real world power?

FWIW, I found on a recent trip (one of my first with the "new" motorhome) that its best fuel economy towing my Jeep at 22k pounds, was right around 64 miles per hour which equates well with the peak torque output.

I have been told that the F53 stripped (motorhome) chassis 460 engine was rated at 405 ft/lbs at 2400 RPM and I am inclined to believe this is correct. I have never checked fuel efficiency based on RPMs, but I can definitely feel the difference in maintaining speed up inclines when holding the RPMs at 2400.

Banks Power website has HP and torque curves at the rear wheels. Click on the appropriate MH and it gives stock and modified graphs. For that year it is 178hp @ 3200rpm and 333tq @ 1800rpm.
