I don't know of a good website, but it's really not all that complicated. I'll list what I know:
All Ford RV class A chassis are called "F53".
1998 and prior used 460 pushrod big blocks in either carb'd or EFI configuration. Not sure when EFI started, '92 maybe? About the same time the swap from the 3 speed C6 to the 4 speed E4OD was made.
1999 introduced a "new" F53 chassis. It had a stronger frame and wider track along with the new overhead cam modular V10. I think it was rated at 275 HP.
2000 the V10 got new heads and according other parts, rated at 310 HP.
2004 some chassis upgrades were made, stronger frame aft of axle, and a 2.4" higher ride height.
2006 introduced the 3 valve V10 and 5 speed transmission.
I forget the smaller GVW ratings, but 18,000 and 20,500 were the top ratings until 2004 when a 22,000 rated chassis was introduced. 22.5" wheels also became available then. There aren't major differences between the different ratings, mostly different spring and axle packages.
Somewhere along the line the E4OD was renamed the 4R100, but that was really just a name change. There have been minor changes the trans all along.
What are some of your search parameters for a used one right now? Size? Cost? Slides? Major features?

Any way to decode the "vin" number to know what engine/transmission is under your rig?
If not, where are they marked??

If you have a 2006 chassis and enter your vin at the above site you will get an answer back that you have the 310 hp engine. They are not up to date. You must call customer service to get the correct engine etc. discription.
