The cruise control on my 1992 F53 with the 460 ford v8 has quit. Can't find any reference to "fuse" for this device altho there has to be one. Under dash on drivers side fuse panel doesn't have one so marked.

Does anyone have a copy of the "new" 2009-11 chassis/wiring manual?
Ford has shut-down the link to chassis site, dealers only now.
What I'm looking for is location of VIN and how to read it, chassis, GVWR, year/month of build, etc.
Does this chassis/wiring manual include wiring diagrams or is this seperate?

Seperate question; do these chassis come with complete wiring for towing, yes there's a plug on hitch, but is it wired for brakes and power wire similar to a pick-ups? Also is there fuse panel wiring for a brake controler or is this a coach manufacturers responsibility?

Using (above original links) to Ford produces only an error for manual/chassis.
Is there a SERVICE MANUAL for 2010/11 Ford F-53 available? Ford has closed its site to any customers.
SO;
Is there a Dealers list with facilities to handle these chassis? I have asked Ford and they give a generic answer "ask your dealer".
As these chassis are now under new gas motorhomes, a number of of us would like information on these chassis, manuals, dealers etc.

Going to "motorcraftservice.com" will give you access to Service & Owners information on CD only, not shop service manuals. I have been to dealers and they have CD/DVD for shop use only which is updated monthly. I have gone to AutoRepairManual.biz and they have F-53 manuals for 2002 only. What I would like is someone who has copied the (2010/11) .pdf file from Ford's site prior to it being shutdown to customers.
Sorry, old school, like paper manuals. Some of us still wish to work on our own RV's.

The link has links to the service manual options. They have a subscrition service for various terms for on-line access. Short term is 72 hours for $10.95 up to a year.

The paper/cd manuals are linked to Helm inc. which is the publisher of most of the service manuals. Hope this helps.


BTW, I had been looking for the owners manual. We pick up our new Winnebago 26P and I was interested in checking out the manual before the MH got here. Thanks for posting the info.

This is a typical Ford problem. Check the brake light switch (on the brake pedal arm) for proper operation. If it has 3 wires, the brake lights may work, but the cruise circuit is open via the 3rd wire (it's a SPDT switch). Sometimes it is just an accumulation of corrosion on the connector. Removing the connector and reattaching often fixes the problem, but sometimes the switch needs replacement. Good luck.
