Check at a Ford truck dealer or any dealer for that matter. Their books will tell them. Maybe the truck dealers would have more experience recommending a larger filter.

I thought I could get my filters cheaper other places until I checked at the dealer. I think they were $7.

Why are you looking at a bigger oil filter? The Motorcraft FL820S is a fairly large oil filter. Especially compared to what GM uses on their V8 engines. I buy my filters from Autozone. They are cheaper than what the dealers can get them for. In fact I buy my oil filters from Autozone and Mobile 1 full syn oil from Walmart. $23.00 VS $35 for 5 qt.

I never use anything other than OEM filters. For one reason is the OEM will always back the product. I have seen NAPA come up with excuses not to cover failed parts that caused severe engine damage. I also seen a Ford oil filter fail on a Ford car with 170K on the clock. Ford sent out an inspector to document the failure and the customer received a complete new Ford reman engine with full warranty. One of the things I did when I received my current position at my job was get rid off all aftermarket (napa) filters. Shortly afterwards my dealer (international) asked me what filters I used. I told them OEM. They said good, here is a bulletin pointing out failures from certain filters. NAPA was on the list. There is an ambulance company near me with econoline ambulances. All V10s. They use Ford filters. Most of their ambulances have 300K on them. If it works for them it will work for our light duty motorhomes.

No both oils are great. I work with an oil analysis company for work. They love Mobile 1 but he also said Motorcraft oil is one of the very best blends on the market.

I like Purolator PureONE PL24651. You can usually find them at K-Mart or Fred Meyer. In the Northwest, Bi-Mart will probably have them. It is my observation that they keep my oil cleaner than other brands I have tried. I have used them on various vehicles for about 20 years.

Ok, the Motorcraft oil sold at WalMart, is it a true Ford oil or some aftermarket producing it & does it have all the qualitys as the oil from a Ford dealer.
The Wal Mart Motorcraft oil filters, are those Ford products or some aftermarket producing them.
Thanks, Neil

I used them for a total of more than 90,000 miles . You could've fooled me if they weren't as they were trouble free miles.

If I'm remembering right, back when we first got our F53 M/H, was thinking the same & wanting a larger oil filter. After all the searching, it was the NAPA 1087 filter was said would interchange on to the 6.8 V10, but when it came in the screw on threads were 3/4" pipe, the same as the 460 big block engine. The V10 is like a smaller metric pipe thread I believe, so the 1087 wont fit.
