i'm also running the 5 star tune, and recently started getting a bucking when in top gear on a slight uphill grade, and mike at 5 star says it is because I have a weak coil that is breaking down. has anyone else seen or had this problem.

It also sounds like a coil/plug issue. Misfires under high engine loads are classic symptoms of an ignition concern.

Does the tuner stay plugged into the OBDII port or is it removed after the tune is installed? I currently have a scan guage hooked to my OBDII port and would like to continue using it.

It gets removed, so you can continue to use your Scan Guage

Don't forget to pull the fuse for the hydroboost or it will drive you crazy while installing the tune...

The ignition coil problem is good info for me. I have been experiencing this and thought it was the trans tune gone too far. I have the extra hard holding 5 star and thought it was bogging the motor down. Geez, something else to learn.
Thanks guys

Is this type of information given to you when you receive the tune? Mine is on its way to me and this stuff would be good to know. Where would you find this fuse for hydro boost?

I don't know if its the one of the coils making it buck. I bought an actron scan tool to maybe try an check it, but it shows nothing. I pulled all the coils and looked at the boots to see if there's any arcing, like several people told me, and I found nothing. from what I learned from talking to different people and on the net, probably the only people that have the equipment to find it out is ford, and then they probably won't like the tune program that is on it.

Received my 5 star tune Fri afternoon, the CD will not play, tried it on two different computers. Is there any info on the CD that you HAVE TO HAVE to install the tune on the MH ?

No, just read the pamphlet and do it. Very easy and fast. I never did look at the CD nor did I pull the fuse.

Pulling the fuse is only so you don't have to listen to the annoying noise from the brakes.

Thanks Don

Just finished installing the "Tune", no problems with the installation. I will get to check it out tomorrow, have an appointment with Brazels RV in Centralia, Wa tomorrow morning to have a rear track bar installed. Did the CHF front and rear last week. Should be good to go after the track bar installation.

Tom
