FORD Vapor Locking Fuel Pump

Several years ago, I had a problem with vapor locking on my 1993 Pace Arrow 35' motor home. A new in-tank fuel pump was needed and the local Ford dealer wanted $650 for the unit. My son told me to search www.rockauto.com for the pump. I was able to purchase the exact same part number Motorcraft pump for $325 with free shipping. Highly recommended! gts1544=George

One trick I learned as a youngster is that to prevent vapor lock due to low pump pressure and heat issues is to put several springer clothes pins on the metal fuel line. The wood acts as a heat sink and dissipates the temperature to keep the fuel cooler. It is a temporary fix until you can get the pump replaced.
