Front end Toe measurement and adjustment

Theres been recent discussion in several threads about toe adjustments and how they can impact handling. I decided to check mine. It took about 15 minutes to make the measurements.

Mine was originally set at zero to slightly toe-out. After making a couple adjustments and re-measurements, I settled on 0.336 degrees toe-in. This is slightly below the limit of Ford speck 0.06 deg (toe-in) plus or minus 0.25 deg. I think I noticed better stability, but it was hard to tell as we had very high cross winds the day I test drove.

I'm going to leave it at the new setting and keep an eye on tire wear and handling.

Computing Toe Angle

I did a short article on how I measured mine, AND, I added a calculator down near the bottom of the article. I enter my 3 measurement numbers and it tells me what the toe angle is.

On mine, the final measurements were:

Front > 90.625 inches
Rear > 91 inches
F to R measurement > 64 inches
Computed angle > 0.336 deg TOE-IN
