I have a 1996 Holiday Rambler that is on a 1995 Ford F53 Chassis. I had a bad fuel sending unit and have dropped the tank to replace. I ordered in the parts and have installed a completly new Ford Fuel Pump and Sender assemebly into the tank. I'm now stumpped on the wiring of the Jumper Harness.

I ordered the 3 wire jumper harness, and now can't figure out what wires go where. I have discovered I have 4 wires coming out of the chassis, however, the old connecter only had 3 connections. I hope the photos explain better.

My question....

The jumper harness has three wires available to connect to the vehicle:
Pink/Black
Yellow/White
Black.

However, coming off the vehicle I have:
RED
Yellow/white
Pink/Black (was not connected to anything)
Black.

I have too many wires on the vehicle side....HELP!!!

Part Number of Harness:
F7PU-BA 9A213 (According to my research and manual, it should be the correct one since it was made before 1996. The chassis is a 1995 according to VIN #)

The wiring diagram for the 1995 F53 shows that:
PK/BK = Pump Power
BK = Ground
Y/W = to fuel gauge on dash

It does not show a Red wire in the diagrams but in other Ford trucks the Red wire is the power for the front fuel pump.
Any wire in the fuel system on a Ford with Yellow on it is for the fuel gauge.

Use a test light and hook the ground of the light to the Black wire and put the point on the Red or Pink/Black wire. When the key is turn on one of the two wires should light the test light for one second.
Use that wire that lights the light. It looks like someone has done some wiring in the fuel system after the factory.

The wiring kit you have F7PZ-9A213-BA should have com with an instruction sheet. Can you scan and post this instruction sheet so we can see what it says or email it to me. My email address is below in my signature.

I hope this helps.
