look up speedometer repair company on the net and call one with your coach info and they will most likely have parts to make the repair . I had to do this on my class a with a ford f53 chassis.

Good Luck

Not sure what your chassis is but if it's a Ford F-53 gas chassis this might apply.

Last year I was trying to silence some of the road noise and placed a few pieces of foam in and around the steering column. We pulled out of the drive and my shift indicator wasn't working.

The F-53 chassis uses a plastic coated wire attached to the indicator. I removed the foam, located how I had disconnected the wire. Looked around and determined where it was attached replaced it to a little hook and it worked. I think it took less than 5 minutes.

Based on your statement you see no indicator. That's different from having the indicator showing between shift points or on the incorrect shift point. Maybe it's just detached or maybe it's broken. Take off some of the steering column plastic in that area and you might find a simple fix.

Don't know what year it changed, but Ford ( my 2017, 6 speed ) is now using a LED gear position indicator. No moving pointer.
The gear position your in, lights up when you have the key on.
Seems like another change to fly by wire.

The indicator on my 2011 Allegro 34TGA was no longer pointing to the correct gear. I removed the dash panel and discovered that the indicator position was adjustable but mine had stretched too much to adjust. I had to replace the entire assembly.

The assembly includes the display and a thin shielded cable with a loop that attaches to the shift linkage beneath the dash. The indicator just snaps out of the speedometer carrier assembly and the loop just slips off of the linkage.

Your indicator will have a part number on it. Order a replacement (mine cost about $20.00 on Ebay) and install the new one, adjust it and you're good to go. I was unable to locate the exact part using the number but with some research I determined that the Indicator portion was the same and the only difference was the length of the cable. My original cable was much longer than necessary so I ordered one with a shorter cable and it worked fine.

This is really easy to do. Just be sure to unhook the chassis battery first and you can unhook the plugs on the back of the dash if you need more working room. Good Luck!

gear indicator

Thank all who answered. I think maybe a cat knocked some thing off. The coach is a 2016 Coachmen Pursuit.

Thanks again, the indicator was off of the display. I removed the lower plastic and took the display loose . the indicator snaped back in place, I had to adjust the small cable with a thumb screw. Works fine.
