I have a 07 Sunova 34' that I have driven since July 07 without a toad. I recently added a 2 door Jeep wrangler. It seems like my handling in the wind has improved. Is it my imagination or does it help with the weight and extra axles.
Thanks

Adding a toad is not changing the weight but I wonder if towing changes the air flow over and around your motorhome. That's a good question!!

No change to RV weight or air flow, what is happening is you have 4 wheels on the ground behind the RV that are toning down the rear end wag you were probably feeling before. The toad weight behind the RV assists in keeping side to side movement in check as you go down the road. Think of a kayak with out a skeg (small rudder), as you paddle the kayak will wander side to side, add the skeg and it will track much straighter in the water. Think of you toad as a skeg for your RV!

This is great news!

We are just getting ready to tow our Ford Edge 4 down. I can hardly wait to test out our Ford Edge "Anti Wag" device!

If it works, it will be a welcome addition for sure.

Thanks everyone. My big test will be when we travel to the balloon festival in Nm. We have hit bad winds in AZ and NM each year and that will be our big test. I'm glad it wasn't my imagination. Have a Happy 4Th.

The toad vehicle will still wag somewhat due to the sloppyness of the hitch connection. Grab it to satisfy curiousity and shake it hard back and forth. You'll see the slop and that will allow the toad to fishtail somewhat back there.

Consider therefore if any side to side play is present, a dual immobilizer from Blue Ox will make solid that connection.

I tow with a dollie and it does calm the wag to almost nil.

Just waiting for the base plate to get here by FedEx and within a few hours of that event, it will be Test Drive Time!

The DW will be happy for sure as we have been driving our Ford Edge around for the past few days with the front rubber bumper removed.

I forgot about the 4th of July being a holiday in the USA.

I'm not anxious..............no not me!

We decided to take a little drive to Niagara Falls with our new Anti Wag Device installed and hooked up (Ford Edge)

Without a doubt, almost zero wag from those big trucks and busses as they pass!

The Edge is heavy but the 8.1 has no problems pulling or stopping.

Noticed the same thing with my rig when I first purchased it. I have a 2007 Sightseer 29R. It has a short wheelbase (190") and was definitely a both hands on the wheel driving experience without a toad. I drag a Jeep Liberty 4 wheels down and the it just about eliminates any tail wagging and bouncing. This past May I installed the larger Roadmaster front sway bar and BlueOx rear track bar. There was a noticeable improvement in handling when driven by itself. The addition of the toad makes it even better.

I also noticed an improvement when towing a small cargo trailer. And, gas mileage improved 0.5 MPG probably due to smoother airflow around the rear of the motorhome.
