My cruise control works well on smooth road surfaces, but a hard bump, pavement to concrete transition or deep pot holes the cruise control shuts down. The linkage and parts seem to be clean with no excessive wear. Anybody with a fix??? Triton V10 engine. Thank you.

check the adjustment of your cruise control disengage switch where it makes contact with your service brake arm under the dash by the steering column. That might be the culprit.

Mothership: Had the same problem on my previous gas MH. The brake light switch above the brake pedal was adjusted too close. The brake pedal bounces when you hit a bump and activates the brake light switch and that turns the cruise control off. (Cruise control is supposed to turn off when brakes are applied)
You should be able to adjust the switch so it is not as sensitive but still turns the brake lights on (and cruise off) when you apply the brakes. Hope this helps...

I had the same issue with our unit. Have you had the Recall on the Recall done? Once I had my harness replaced. I have not had it happen again. There were 2 recalls on the harness. You can go to the Ford site and put your VIN# in and it will tell if it has been replaced. I don't no if that is what cause it or not. But they replaced the Master Cylinder because it was leaking and then the harness.
