Has anyone changed a "Drag Link"?

I havre a 2005 National Seabreeze on a 2004 Ford F53 Chassie and the rubber book is torn on the drag link. I am told that the whole drag link need to be be replaced because the boot an the joint is not changable by itself. Ok I get that (about $300 bucks for the part) the question is how to do it and does the wheels need to be aligned once it it changed.

Any advice is apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correct they are adjustable I've help change a few we knocked them out with forks they should pop out fine. A good tap on top of the screw after the bolt is removed should break it free. Measure the threads showing on the ends just mark how the old one came off the unit as for the side to get the correct measurement on the new that will get you back close it. If mine I would get it aligned. Just watch out for the fingers that part is not light

I do not have any information on the 2004 but I think the 2003 is the same.
So attached in a PDF is the 2003 information.

I've bought these rubber boots at NAPA.

I had it installed, at a local truck garage, when I had my coach in for Pennsylvania state inspection.

I would remove the nut, turn it over and rethread it almost all the way back on and then use the hammer. That way you can't damage the threads on the stud.
