Heater Problem

The heater 1998 Triple E won't switch from one system to the other. It seems to have stuck on the defroster and and I cannot switch to the vents. Regardless of what I select it is stuck on defrost.
Any Ideas?

You most likely have a vacuum leak some where in the system all controls default to defrost when there is a loss of vacuum in the vent system . Start looking there and check all the vacuum actuators under the dash and the vacuum hoses under there also and it could even be the selector switch

More than likely the vacuum hose has broke or came off the engine vacuum source.
Also check out from at the vacuum ball and the hose at the bottom of the A/C box at the vacuum motor.
